Bio: Diana Carpenter

 

Diana L. Carpenter

Ms. Carpenter currently serves as the Team Lead for No Worker Left Behind (NWLB). She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Finance from Michigan State University.

No Worker Left Behind was announced in Governor Granholm’s 2007 State of the State address. NWLB offers up to two years of free tuition and fees to complete a certificate or degree at any Michigan community college, college or university or other approved training program. Qualifying workers must pursue a degree or other occupational certificate in a high-demand occupation or emerging industry or in an entrepreneurship program.

Prior to NWLB, Ms. Carpenter was the manager of the Michigan Regional Skills Alliances (MiRSA) Initiative for the State of Michigan. MiRSA are regional, employer-led partnerships working with the public workforce investment system to address industry sector workforce issues. Ms. Carpenter has been involved in the development of Regional Skills Alliance since the initiative began in 2004. She was appointed in December 2005 as the Program Manager.

Ms. Carpenter brings over 25 years of experience in the field of economic and workforce development.
