Dave Herrala

Dave is a Senior Learning Leader in Dow Chemical’s Global Manufacturing and Engineering function, and has been involved in a long term strategic initiative to assure that Dow’s Michigan Operations manufacturing workforce has the high levels of skill required to be competitive in today’s challenging global economy. He is actively engaged in collaborating with secondary and post secondary education, the workforce system, economic developers, and fellow business associates to support aligning all of these key partners against a common mission of creating a world class workforce in the Saginaw, Midland, Bay City region, and in Michigan overall.

Dave is a private sector member of the Saginaw-Midland-Bay Workforce Board, and also a member of the board of directors for the Michigan Works! Association. He has extensive leadership experience in the learning field, and in other key areas of human performance, such as leader effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, and behavioral based performance systems. He has also held leadership assignments in manufacturing operations, engineering, and business development in his career at Dow. Originally hailing from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, he is a graduate of Michigan Technological University, and a registered professional engineer in the state of Michigan.
